Opening Forum

CIRED 2027’s first day will feature a short opening forum with various speakers. The Opening Forum will be followed by the traditional welcome reception.

Speakers

Antonio Cammarota (Chair of the CIRED Board of Directors / Enel, Italy)

Antonio Cammarota is the Chairman of the CIRED Board of Directors and the Italian representative within the General Assembly.

He joined the CIRED Community in 2005 and, in 2007, he was appointed as the Italian representative within the CIRED Directing Committee.

From 2012 to 2016 he also was member of the CIRED Technical Committee as the first Officer in charge of Working Groups and relations with Partner Associations. During his mandate he launched the CIRED Working Groups activity involving roughly 150 experts from around 30 Countries.

In Enel Group since 2002, he is currently responsible for Construction, Operation and Maintenance and HSEQ Demand and Adoption within the Enel Grids Digital Enabler. Prior to this role, he held several positions of responsibility within the Enel Group covering different managerial roles in the areas of Technology, Innovation, Engineering, Operation and Maintenance. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at the Federico II University of Naples.

Ulrika Francke (CEN President, Sweden)

Ulrika Francke is a Swedish executive and former politician who currently is the president of CEN (Ulrika Francke Elected First Woman President of CEN – CEN-CENELEC) and former president of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) between 2022 and 2023 (first woman to hold both these roles). She became the Vice Mayor of Stockholm as a Liberal Party politician between 1992 and 1999 and over the years she has been CEO and board member for several companies and organizations. She was also elected a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in 1998.

Peter Söderström (Chair of the CIRED General Assembly & CIRED 2027 Organizing Committee / Vattenfall, Sweden)

Peter Söderström has worked with innovation and business development in the energy business since end of last century. Earlier in the areas of energy efficiency, nuclear and the oil industry and later with focus on the development of the future electrical system and especially the DSO role. He is currently with Vattenfall Distribution Sweden, a large north European utility where he is responsible for innovation. He is involved in national and international workgroups and member of CIRED board of directors, chair of the CIRED general assembly, chair of the Swedish CIRED national committee and chair of CIRED Session 6 covering regulation and DSO business environment.
